Team Spotlight: Russell Gould
Tell us about your role at Clue?
As a Solutions Consultant, my job is to help customers get the most out of Clue. From the moment they choose Clue, I work with them to understand their goals and ensure they’re set up for success. It’s about optimising how Clue fits within their organisation and overcoming any barriers they face, so they can make the most of our platform.
What we have found is that Clue lives within an ecosystem, within a customer, and for a customer to really get the most out of Clue, we have to optimise how Clue lives within that ecosystem. And that is really what my role at Clue is.
What is your experience within Clue?
I’ve worn lots of different hats within Clue, from developing our product documentation, developing product roadmaps, product vision strategy, even defining the user experience. I was also our Information Security Officer for a long period of time as well. I joined Clue to support the onboarding of the NHS Counter Fraud Authority—one of Clue’s biggest deals at the time—and to help refine our product strategy and direction.
What was your career path before joining Clue?
I started my career as an accountant after university but quickly moved into product management, initially working in app store management, and later in FinTech.
What do you enjoy most about working at Clue?
The best part of my role is knowing that the work I do has a real impact on serious societal challenges. I take immense pride in that. Another great aspect of Clue is working under a female CEO in a tech company—something that resonates with me personally, as a father of two daughters.
Tell us an interesting fact about you
I’m moving to Australia – I’m excited to continue my Clue journey from a new location, and it feels like a great time to expand Clue’s presence in Australia. It’s a big step for me and my family, and I’m really looking forward to it.
What makes Clue a great place to work?
Clue is a scaling business, so you need to embrace change and be willing to commit fully. Some aspects of the business are well established, while others still have that startup feel. If you’re ready to go the extra mile, the rewards are there—people recognise and back your efforts. It’s a great place for those who want to make a difference.
