Today, we talk to Talent Acquisition Specialist, Nic Schmolke.

Hi Nic, tell us a bit about you background.

I started my recruitment career several years ago in the catering and hospitality sector before transitioning into tech/SaaS and internal HR/recruitment. My experience in both external agency recruitment and internal roles has provided me with a broader understanding of people services and how we can effectively contribute to business strategy and organisational goals. 

What does your role at Clue entail and how does it add value?

In my role at Clue, I have a variety of responsibilities due to the size of our people team. This allows me to engage in broader people projects alongside my daily recruitment activities. My primary tasks include identifying and attracting top talent to join the company and enhancing our employer brand. I also assist our managers throughout the hiring process and the onboarding journey, ensuring that candidates have a positive experience with us. Additionally, I support the people team with processes related to talent management, learning and development, and policy implementation, all with the goal of improving the overall employee experience throughout their lifecycle with the organisation. 

What motivates you about working at Clue?

I enjoy immersing myself in a variety of projects, as it keeps each day fresh and diverse. Working for a company of this size provides me with greater exposure to different areas of the business, since I am responsible for recruitment across all roles. I find it fascinating to learn about the different functions and how they work together. Additionally, I love discussing our story and mission with candidates. Contributing to something much larger is incredibly rewarding, and people are always eager to learn more about Clue 

Tell me something about you that most people don’t know.

I won two charity boxing matches, one for Cancer Research and one for Bristol Mind.

In terms of successes, which accomplishments are you most proud of?

Placing my first C-suite Executive hire, but who could it be?!  

Why do you enjoy working at Clue?

I like working in the friendly and open environment here where everyone is supportive. It’s fascinating knowing about the impact Clue has across our customer base. Working for a company that is doing some good in the world is really motivating.
