Intelligence sharing strengthens public health, animal health and environmental protection

Using Clue to share intelligence amongst enforcement partners is helping Defra Executive Agency, the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD), protect public health, animal health and the environment. The VMD needed an intelligence platform to securely store, develop and disseminate intelligence internally and with other enforcement agencies. Feedback from other Government agencies using Clue contributed to VMD’s decision to select Clue.
A member of the VMD Enforcement Section said “As VMD’s Enforcement Team our remit is to secure compliance with the Veterinary Medicines Regulations by tackling the sale, supply, importation, and administration of illegal veterinary medicines. We had no secure way of storing intelligence, which limited our ability to develop and disseminate intelligence, and the scope of our interactions with other enforcement agencies.
“The process of on-boarding Clue was excellent. Clue has helped massively”
“During the process of selecting an intelligence platform we consulted with other agencies that used Clue. Their positive feedback helped inform our decision to adopt Clue. The process of on-boarding Clue was excellent. It was tailored to suit our user needs and is flexible and simple to understand. Being cloud-based meant that we could access the test site quickly and easily begin to build the registers.
“Clue has helped massively as we are now able to share intelligence amongst a wider range of enforcement partners. We work closely with other parts of Defra to share data and intelligence and have a particularly close relationship with Defra Investigation Services (DIS) who carry out investigations into potential breaches of the VMR on our behalf. This relationship involves sharing case information, intelligence, and expertise. Clue is a comprehensive and intuitive investigation tool which is allowing us to build case files and to better manage investigations. Clue is an excellent tool as it can be tailored to suit individual needs.”
