Dr Jordan Nunan
Senior Lecturer in Criminal Justice, University of Northampton
Dr Nunan leads modules on Major Investigations and Covert Investigations and serves as the National Coordinator (Deputy-Chair) for the National Police Chiefs’ Council Intelligence Practice Research Consortium. With a PhD focused on the collection of Human Intelligence, he brings extensive experience from his service in the Metropolitan Police Service and Cambridgeshire Constabulary.
Dr Brian Chapell MBE
Head of Criminology and Criminal Justice, Brunel University, London
Brian completed a 30-year career with the Metropolitan Police Service in 2011. He served as a substantive detective at all ranks up to Detective Chief Inspector where he was an operational head and member of the Senior Management Team within the Specialist Crime Directorate, Covert and Intelligence Command at New Scotland Yard.
Brian has national and international strategic and operational leadership experience in the development of best practice, human rights and ethical compliance in the criminal justice sector, particularly in relation to human intelligence and has also led capability building projects for international law enforcement agencies on behalf of HM Government and the Association of Chief Police Officers.
Brian holds Doctorate in Criminal Justice. His research was the first exploratory study into the use of juvenile covert human intelligence sources (CHIS) in England.
Phil Suddick

Phil has a rich background in law enforcement and sports integrity, beginning his career with the Metropolitan Police, specialising in anti-corruption and international crime investigations. As an experienced human source professional, he has effectively targeted corruption within law enforcement and government and tracked down notorious criminals worldwide.
He later served as Head of Intelligence at an international sports governing body, where he implemented advanced investigative techniques and integrated software.
